Your Role Key responsibilities in your new role:
- Drive technology development for trapped-ion quantum processors, with focus scaling towards very large chips
- Co-develop the next generations of QPUs with our commercial partners
- Enable the research community through projects with academic partners
- Supervise master and PhD students
Your Profile Qualifications and skills to help you succeed:
- Have a PhD in physics, quantum engineering, computational physics or similar
- Bring more than five years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, quantum optics, and/or (trapped-ion) quantum computing
- Be a highly motivated individual who wants quantum computing to become a reality
- Be fluent in English, German skills or the willingness to learn is a plus
- The employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group H (https://www.feei.at/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/minimum-wages-blue-collar-workers-2025.pdf). The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. We offer a higher compensation depending on your expertise and skills.
