Head of Project Management Office (f/m/d)
We are seeking a highly structured and proactive leader to head our Project Management Office (PMO). In this role, you will lead a lean, high-impact team to ensure strategic initiatives stay on track, risks are identified early, and performance is driven through data and insight. You will work closely with workstream leaders and executives to align efforts with business priorities, resolve challenges, and deliver measurable outcomes that enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
Your Responsibilities
- Build and lead the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring all workstreams are aligned with strategic goals, progressing as planned, and delivering measurable results
- Establish and maintain a centralized reporting system that serves as the single source of truth for project performance and progress tracking
- Evaluate project delivery strategies and play a leading role in assessing and mitigating risks, and support workstream leaders in problem-solving and course correction
- Conduct data-driven analysis to uncover trends, performance gaps, and opportunities, delivering actionable insights to senior leadership
- Support the organization in adopting change through structured communication, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation of value stream mapping and process improvement
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in project or program management, including a strong leadership track record. Experience in management or strategy consulting is considered a valuable asset.
- Proven experience in managing complex change initiatives, with a strong understanding of project lifecycle, stakeholder management, and organizational transformation
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire diverse teams. Skilled in coaching, communication, and fostering a collaborative team culture
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to structure complex issues, reconcile differing viewpoints, and communicate solutions clearly
- Experience in designing and maintaining reporting tools and processes with a focus on data quality and usability
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (English & German) to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI, experience with SQL is a plus
